Terms of Service
Last updated: September 12, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the American Dogs app and website (the “Service”), operated by Fabrechew LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
American Dogs is a platform that helps dog owners log walks and care, view breed-aware recommendations, and connect with independent walkers/caregivers (“Providers”) for walks, drop-in visits, day care, and boarding. We are a technology platform; Providers are independent and are not our employees.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information. American Dogs is for adults. We do not allow accounts for anyone under 18, on the website or in the app, and we close an account as soon as we learn its holder is under 18.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
- You may use the App as an owner, a walker/caregiver, or both.
3. Bookings, payments & fees
- Prices are set by Providers (including any multiple-dog pricing). Bookings, including multiple-dog and multi-day bookings, are charged the total shown at checkout.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). You authorize the applicable charges.
- We may charge a service/platform fee, which will be disclosed before you pay.
- Cancellation and refund terms are shown at the time of booking and may vary by service.
4. Provider responsibilities
Providers agree to deliver services with reasonable care, follow applicable laws and local rules (including leash and pack-size rules), and provide accurate information. Background checks, where offered, support but do not guarantee suitability.
5. Health & safety — information, not advice
Walk-time, calorie, breed, dietary, toxic-food, and health information in the App is provided for general educational purposes only and is not veterinary advice. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for your dog’s health and diet. In a suspected poisoning or emergency, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435. You are responsible for your dog’s wellbeing and for decisions you make based on App information.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service, including by providing false information, harassing others, infringing rights, attempting to access data you’re not authorized to, or using the Service for unlawful purposes. Rules about photos are in sections 7 to 10.
7. Your photos, and who sees them
Your photo stays yours. Uploading it does not change that. What you give us is permission to keep it and to show it to the audience you chose — nothing wider. That permission ends when you change the audience, stop sharing, or delete the photo.
- Every photo starts as “Not shared” — that is the setting you will see in the app, and it means only you. Nobody else sees it until you choose an audience: your friends, your neighborhood, or everyone. The levels add up — a photo you share with your neighborhood is also visible to your friends, and a photo you share with everyone is visible to both. Choosing a wider audience never takes the photo away from people who could already see it.
- Sharing makes a second file. We do not widen the audience of the photo you uploaded. We make a separate copy, re-saved as a JPEG with the location, camera and timestamp information removed, and that copy — never your original — is the one other people are served in a feed. If we cannot open your file well enough to remove that information, we refuse to share it rather than publish it as it arrived. (This is why some iPhone photos in HEIC format cannot be shared.) Photos on a walk are the exception to “never your original”, and the walk bullet below says how.
- A shared photo has a web address, and anyone who has that address can open it for as long as the photo is shared — including someone you are not friends with, someone outside your neighborhood, and someone who is not signed in at all. The friends and neighborhood settings decide whose feed the photo appears in; they do not stop a forwarded link from working. When you stop sharing a photo, that address stops working, and sharing the photo again later makes a new copy at a new address. Narrowing the audience does both at once: the old address stops working and a new copy is made for the smaller audience. Neither can take back a copy someone already saved. Do not share a photo you would mind a stranger keeping.
- You must have confirmed you are 18 or over before you can share a photo from your album with anyone else. Looking at the app and keeping photos in your own album are not affected.
- The first photo you share from your album is looked at by a person before anyone else sees it. It sits in your album marked as waiting. This usually takes less than a day, though it is one person doing it and we cannot promise a fixed time. Once that first photo has been checked, everything you share afterwards appears straight away. Members who already had photos published in the Showcase feed (자랑하기) before this was introduced are treated as already checked.
- Photos taken on a walk. Both people on a walk — the owner and the walker who led it — can add photos and can see every photo on that walk, whoever took it. The walker sees them as you uploaded them, not as a stripped copy, which is why the app removes the location from a photo on your own phone before it is sent. Only the walk’s owner can share one of them with anyone else: it is their dog and the street it lives on, so it is their decision, not the walker’s. A walker may delete a photo they took themselves, and doing so also removes it from the public feed if the owner had put it there. If the owner turns on the shareable walk report link, that page shows the walk’s photos as they were uploaded, and the walk’s route, to anyone holding the link, with no account — until the owner switches the link off.
- Some things do not come back. If you stop sharing a photo that was shared with everyone, the likes and saves on it are deleted for good; sharing it again starts from zero. A photo you delete still counts toward the daily limit on how many photos you may upload.
8. What you must not post
Do not upload or share:
- Someone else’s photo, unless they told you it was all right to post it.
- A photo of a person who has not agreed to be in it — and never a photo of a child unless the child is your own or their parent or guardian has agreed.
- Anything sexual.
- Anything cruel or violent, to a person or to an animal.
- Anything that shows where someone lives without their agreement — their door, their house number, their street sign, their car plate.
- Anything that is not yours to post, or that is meant to harass, mislead, or advertise.
If a photo breaks these rules we may hide it, remove it from the shared lists, and suspend or close the account behind it.
9. Reporting a photo, and what happens next
- Anyone the photo was shared with can report it, using the report button in the American Dogs app. If a link to a photo reached you another way — forwarded by someone else, say — email info@fabrechew.com instead, with or without an account.
- A reported photo is normally hidden straight away while a person looks at it. The member who shared it is told that it was reported and hidden, and can still see their own copy in their own album. We never tell them who reported it, or how many people did. A post in the public Showcase feed (자랑하기) is the exception: a report there is read and acted on by a person rather than hiding the post automatically.
- A person decides, not a computer. That usually happens within a day. One person does this work, so a day is what normally happens, not a promise we make.
- Two outcomes. Either the photo goes back to the audience you had chosen, or it is taken out of the shared lists. Even when it is taken out, your own copy stays in your album — we remove it from other people’s view, not from yours. You are told when the photo actually moves. A photo that is taken out cannot be shared again afterwards; you can still keep it or delete it. While a photo is hidden and waiting you can stop sharing it, but you cannot put it back in front of people yourself.
- We do not tell the person who reported a photo what happened to it. Reports are confidential in both directions.
- Every report reaches a person, even when the photo is not hidden automatically. We hold back the automatic hide in three cases: the reporter had blocked the member they are reporting; the reporter has had three or more of their earlier reports rejected; or that reporter’s reports have already hidden five photos in the last day. Urgent reports — a child, sexual content, violence — are hidden automatically even in the first of those cases. In all of them the report is still filed and still read.
- Reports outlast the photo. The report and the record of what was decided about it are kept after the photo is deleted and after an account is closed, so the same problem cannot be erased by deleting the evidence.
10. Children’s safety — zero tolerance
American Dogs is an adults-only service and we have zero tolerance for material or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a child. That includes child sexual abuse material, any sexual content involving a minor, any attempt to contact or groom a minor through the Service, and any photo of a child posted without their parent’s or guardian’s agreement.
Anyone can report this — you do not need an account. Use the report button in the American Dogs app if you are a member and can see the photo, or email info@fabrechew.com with the word “CHILD SAFETY” in the subject line. Reports of this kind are treated as urgent and are looked at ahead of everything else. We remove the content, close the account permanently, and report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which passes reports to law enforcement. Our full standards are on the Child Safety Standards page.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fabrechew LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant booking. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some may not apply to you.
12. Termination, and what happens to your photos
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, from My Account on the website or from Edit profile in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for safety or legal reasons.
When you delete your account:
- The photos in your album are deleted, along with every copy we made of them.
- The photos on walks you own are deleted too, whoever took them — including photos your walker took on your dog’s walk.
- Photos you took as a walker, on someone else’s walk, stay on that walk. They are that customer’s record of their own dog and it is not ours to take away from them. You stop being recorded as the person who uploaded them.
- A photo of yours that has an open report against it, or one a moderator kept as evidence, is not deleted. It is made private and invisible to everyone, including you, and kept only so that the open report can still be decided.
- Photos you posted directly to the public Showcase feed (자랑하기) stay published, with the author shown as “Deleted user”. Delete them yourself in Showcase first if you do not want that — open the post and choose Delete. A post a moderator has taken down cannot be deleted by you; write to us about that one.
- Reports you filed stay, with your name removed. Reports filed about you stay as they are.
13. Governing law & changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
