Child Safety Standards

American Dogs is an adults-only service for dog owners and neighborhood walkers, operated by Fabrechew LLC. These are our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”). They apply to everything on the American Dogs app and website: photos, profiles, messages, and walker listings. You do not need an account to read this page or to report something on it.

1. Who the service is for

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Every way of making one — the American Dogs app, our website, and our sister site Puppia World, which share a single login — asks you to confirm this first and refuses to create the account without it. The Service is neither directed to nor intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that an account holder is under 18, we close the account.

2. What is never allowed

We have zero tolerance for any of the following. There is no warning and no second chance.

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form, including drawings, edits, and computer-generated images.
• Any sexual content involving, sexualizing, or suggesting a minor, including sexualized captions on an ordinary photo of a child.
• Using the Service to contact, groom, solicit, or arrange to meet a minor, or to pass a minor’s details to someone else for those purposes.
• Advertising, requesting, trading, or linking to any of the above.
• Content that endangers a child, including anything that shows where a child lives, goes to school, or can be found.

Separately from CSAE, our Terms of Service do not allow a photo of a child to be posted at all unless the child is your own or their parent or guardian has agreed to it.

3. How to report it

Anyone can report this to us — member or not. You do not need an account; the email route below is open to everybody.

• By email, from anywhere: write to info@fabrechew.com with “CHILD SAFETY” in the subject line. Tell us where you saw it — a link, a screen name, or a description is enough. You do not need an account, you do not need to be signed in, and you can write in any of the languages the app supports. This is also the route to use if a link to a photo reached you but you are not one of the people it was shared with.
• In the American Dogs app: open the photo and use the report button. Choose “A child, or someone who didn’t agree to be shown”, or the sexual-content reason, so it is treated as urgent. (There is no report button on the website; use email there.)
• Please do not download, save, or forward the material itself. Send us the link or the description and we will find it.
• If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number first. In the United States you can also report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) at report.cybertipline.org.

We never tell the person who was reported who reported them, or how many people did.

4. What we do about it

• A reported photo is normally hidden from everyone else straight away, while a person looks at it. A post in the public Showcase feed (자랑하기) is the exception: a report there is read and acted on by a person rather than hiding the post automatically.
• Reports that name a child, sexual content, or violence go to the front of the queue, ahead of everything else waiting. We hold back the automatic hide in three cases — the reporter had blocked the member they are reporting; that reporter has had three or more earlier reports rejected; or that reporter’s reports have already hidden five photos in the last day — and an urgent report is hidden automatically even in the first of those. In all of them the report is still filed and still read by a person.
• A person — not an automated system — makes the decision.
• If we confirm CSAE, we remove the content from view, close the account permanently, and preserve the material and the account records as evidence rather than deleting them. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), which passes reports to law enforcement, and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
• A closed account cannot erase the report against it. Reports and the record of what we decided are kept after the photo is deleted and after the account is closed.

5. How quickly

Reports of this kind are treated as urgent and are looked at ahead of everything else. Reports are normally decided within a day. One person does this work, so that is what normally happens rather than a guaranteed response time — but an urgent report is never left behind ordinary ones, and the photo is already hidden while it waits.

6. What we do to prevent it

• Accounts require an 18-or-over confirmation before they are created, and a member who has not confirmed it cannot share a photo from their album with anyone else.
• The first photo a member shares from their album is looked at by a person before anyone else can see it. It usually takes less than a day. Members whose photos were already public in the Showcase feed (자랑하기) before this was introduced are treated as already checked.
• A photo shared from an album is a separate copy of the picture with the location, camera, and timestamp information removed, so it does not carry the place it was taken. A walk’s GPS route is never attached to it. Photos posted straight to the Showcase feed before the date at the top of this page were never re-saved this way, and still carry whatever their phone wrote into them.
• A shared photo can be reported by anyone it was shared with, and anyone at all can report it to us by email. Any member can block another member, which hides their photos in both directions.
